Montebello, Wednesday February 1st, 2012 – Outaouais Rock is proud to confirm that legendary alternative metal pioneers Korn will be performing and closing the Friday night of this year’s 7th edition. After selling over 35 million albums, winning 2 Grammy awards and being together for almost 20 years, the Californian band recently released their 10th album.

Punk-rock fans will be thrilled to find out that immortal Los Angeles band Bad Religion will be part of the festivities. Finally, Riverside’s deathcore sensation Suicide Silence will be performing for brutal music lovers.

This is the first announcement for the 2012 edition but certainly not the last one. Once again this year, over 100 bands will be performing live at D-TOX Rockfest, at the famous marina in Montebello. True to their good habits, the organization is finalizing an impressive lineup that will include a large number of international artists, Quebec’s finest and must-see emerging acts. Surprises, reunions and exclusive performances are to be expected at the festival located between Montreal and Ottawa.

“We’re happy to host D-TOX Rockfest for a 7th year in Montebello”, says Pierre Bertrand, Mayor of Montebello. “We look forward to welcoming you all once again in our small town – let’s rock!”

“We’re thrilled to announce Korn, Bad Religion and Suicide Silence as our first headliners, but it is only the tip of an incredibly huge iceberg”, adds Alex Martel, D-TOX Rockfest’s President and Founder. “Following the amazing success of 2011, attendees will experience the ultimate festival experience, nothing less!”

Put together by Outaouais Rock, the festival has been growing considerably in the last couple of years and is now Quebec’s largest rock event. Known for its impressively diverse lineups, low ticket price, festive atmosphere and beautiful scenery right by the Outaouais River, Rockfest is quickly becoming a summer tradition. Located only 60 minutes from Montreal and 45 minutes from Ottawa, Rockfest is easily accessible for everyone. The festival recently won the Ovation Prize at Quebec’s prestigious Tourism Awards in the Festivals and Tourist Events category, as well as the Arts & Culture and Tourism prizes at the Chamber Of Commerce Awards.

The full announcement press conference will be held in March. General ticket sale will also start in March. However, various pre-sales and other announcements will be done in the meantime. 2012 edition: June 15th – 16th at the marina & June 11th -17th at various indoor venues.
